Woodworking Show in Houston Texas

Just wanted to write and let you all know that we are down here in Houston Texas, demonstrating at THE WOODWORKING SHOW this weekend, April 2nd -3rd. We will have ongoing demos on hand-cutting dovetails as well as using hand planes. We will be demonstrating inlay and shaping chair parts right from the log. We also have several new projects that we have brought along so that you can see what you can build in your next class!

We will be offering 45-minute  free seminars for those who would like to come on down and sit in and learn some valuable woodworking skills.

I am demonstrating tuning and using hand planes in one of my seminars below.

Here are the times and descriptions of what we will be demonstrating over the next 2 days on April 2nd and 3rd, in seminar room 3.

12:00 The Art of Joinery

Learn how to hand-cut dovetails including tapered sliding dovetails and mortise-and-tenon joints, in this 45 minute inspiring seminar.

2:00 Guitar Making

Watch as guitar maker, Joe Slack, demonstrates the step by step process on building a guitar, from tonewood choice to finishing.

4:00 Hand Planes

Experience the joy of using a hand-plane. Frank Strazza demonstrates how to sharpen and use bench planes and molding planes, while creating a picture frame profile totally by hand.

And remember we will be on hand to answer questions and will be demonstrating all throughout the day. You may even catch Joe Slack playing guitar tunes in the booth! Directions and more info can be found here. THE WOODWORKING SHOWS

    Joe,

I really enjoyed your guitar building seminar yesterday at the Houston woodworking show. I was amazed at the different sounds the woods were making when you showed us how to “tap” the woods – Very informative. I look forward to picking your brain in the next few months.

Best of luck and thanks again,
    Lee
